Now is the time to rename Jerry Richardson Stadium. It’s time for UNCC to honor a HERO in Riley Howell. Mr. Howell lost his life, while trying to stop an active shooter on campus. UNCC shall now call its football stadium “Riley Howell Stadium” Mr Richardson should relinquish the naming rights to the stadium. Recognize the true heroism’s that Mr. Howell displayed. I have seen the countless photos and videos across social media showing police officer and first responders running towards danger. But a heroic young man didn’t not run, did not hide, he took evil on when nobody else could.
