Change The By-Laws Regarding Appointments to Vacant Seats
Change The By-Laws Regarding Appointments to Vacant Seats
The Issue
Vacancies on the PASS Board are filled by appointments that are approved by a majority vote of the Board. Historically these appointments have been made by picking the next person on the slate from the most recent election, the reasoning being that they have expressed an interest and been vetted by both the Nominating Committee and the members in the general election. As currently stated the Board can pick anyone to fill vacancies, this petition proposes that the Board be required to offer vacant seats to those on the slate in order of votes so that the process is completely fair and transparent. If no candidates remain, then the Board would have the option to pick someone else from the membership.
