The WA Liquor Control Board has spent a lot of time creating WAC 314-55, the governing doctrine for implementation of recreational marijuana.  We respectfully ask the LCB, Bellingham and Whatcom County Officials to follow the specific laws set for by WAC 314-55.  Additional interpretation above and beyond the law is unnecessary.  

WAC 314-55 requires 24 hours surveillance and security, traceability and accountability from seed to sale of all product, transportation with lock boxes bolted to the vehicle, travel manifests, 1000 foot buffers from 8 specific locations (elementary and secondary schools, playgrounds, recreation centers, child care centers, public parks, public transit centers, libraries and game arcades), background checks for owners, finance audits for owners, and quality assurance testing of all product.  Following WAC 314-55 and getting your state recreational license is no small task.

Interpretation about "intent" of WAC 314-55 will run the cannabis industry out of Bellingham and Whatcom County and with it good paying jobs.  We respectfully ask the LCB, Bellingham and Whatcom County Officials to follow the specific laws set for by WAC 314-55 so that Bellingham and Whatcom County can be a part of this worldwide movement.
