Salam Alaikum!

Congratulations! If you are receiving this email, it means you are one of the first 200 (and a bit) people to sign our petition, calling on the Mayor Mark Greenhill to implement a BDS policy, cutting all ties with Israel, like those already put in place by Byron Bay and Sydney City Council. 

This move would show our community is considerate, compassionate, and courageous. It's our chance to stand on the right side of history. BDS movements have a history of success, including most famously in ending apartheid in South Africa. 

People like Mark, and many others like to tell themselves that if they had been around at these crucial moments in history, they would have been part of the movements for liberation. But the real test is what you're doing now, so congratulations again, to all of your for taking this action, putting your name to the petition, and standing with the people of Gaza, as well as the many other victims of Israeli aggression. If you signed in the last few days, you might see yourself in this video!

Of course, 200 (and a bit) is just the start. We're going to keep adding names to this petition until we have at least a thousand, then take it to a council meeting.

There's also a day of solidarity organised by Mountains for Palestine, happening in Wentworth falls this coming Friday, which we have not been involved in organising, but which we strongly encourage everyone to attend.
