Friends of the WHO Code
27 Feb 2018
Almost 750 signatures in just over 24 hours - and picking up speed as we go! More than numbers, the articulate and heartfelt attached to so many of your signatures speak volumes about the seriousness of this decision by Bliss and the betrayal of trust felt by both health professionals and parents. We had news this morning of a joint letter being sent by the Lactation Consultants of Great Britain, La Leche League Great Britain, the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers, the Breastfeeding Network (UK) and Doula UK voicing their concerns about this agreement. Please keep sharing and writing: the Bliss Board of Trustees is meeting on Thursday. They need to hear loudly and clearly that this decision is not acceptable and Bliss needs a policy in place that explicitly includes the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes so that all babies are protected. Thank you - and keep it up!
