It is becoming exceedingly clear, that the Earth’s atmosphere is not compartmentalised, but one whole envelope. Therefor as China, India, Russia, Indonesia, USA, along with over sixty percent of the rest of the World, now believe that trying to achieve Net Zero is WORTHLESS and are using their 2,196 coal fired power stations at full power.
For Australia to continue to trying on its own to achieve Net Zero by 2050, by shutting down all of our 18 coal fired power stations (which are currently providing 60% of Eastern Australia’s Grid’s requirements) and trying to replace them with fake, unreliable, intermittent, uneconomic, unviable without subsidies, solar, wind and Batteries.
IS A FUTILE, GROSS WASTE OF MONEY, DESTROYING OUR FARMLAND, ICONIC WILDLIFE, DISFIGURING THE LANDSCAPE AND THE MENTAL WELLBEING OF RURAL COMMUNITIES.
The realisation of the futility of chasing Net Zero has been exposed by Donald Trump in the US. More recently in the UK, by Reform leader Nigel Farage, former Labor Leader Tony Blair and Tory leader Kemi Badenoch are all saying Net Zero must be abandoned. In Australia projects are being blocked or cancelled. Such as Qld Premier David Crisafulli blocking the Moonlight Range Wind Farm, a billion dollar project near Rockhampton, along with previously dumping the “multi-billion-dollar fantasy” Pioneer-Burdekin pumped hydro project. Origen Energy has cancelled the 74 MW Carisbrook project in central Victoria and the 130 MW Morgans project in South Australia, each of which was to have a BESS attached. Engie has decided not to push through with its Yass Solar Farm in New South Wales.
THE QUESTION IS: As all these Renewable Projects are being cancelled it seems inevitable that the whole ‘Transition to Renewables Project will collapse too.
WHEN THIS COLLAPSE HAPPENS, IT BECOMES MORE IMPORTANT THAT OUR PETITION TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF MORE AUSTRALIAN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS KEEPS THEM RUNNING.

This includes Eraring NOW 2027, Yallourn NOW 2032), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045 and all other coal fired power stations.
And no consideration of them being closed be considered until assured supplies of base load electricity 24/7 is available from coal, gas or uranium powered generators. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest and to maintain the supply of base load electricity 24/7 that is essential to STOP the Grid from collapsing.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 2nd June 4.15pm AEST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 46% Brown Coal 14%, Gas 15%, Hydro 11% Diesel 0% Solar 6%, Wind 7%. 4.15pm a time when Solar only an hour away from entering its daily 16 hours (lack of fuel), zero production period. Unreliable wind is all over the place averaging 7%, but ranging from only 1% in NSW, up to 23% in SA.
To underline the importance of our coal fired generators 02/06/25, 4.15 pm AEST. In NSW coal is producing 73% Solar 2%, Wind 1%, Qld coal 69%, solar 9% wind 2% Vic Brown coal 61%, solar 2%, wind 17%. SA batteries 0%, gas 58%, solar 18%, wind 23% and Tas hydro 84%, wind 13%.
WITHOUT COAL AUSTRALIA WOULD BE BLACKED OUT.
