The photo above shows the night lit up by the aircraft warning lights on wind turbines, (the flashes are made as the blades, reflect as they spin). Imagine the torture of the people living in the country town of Coolah NSW, to be surrounded by 313 of these bird, bat and bee slicing, wind turbine monsters. Every night being shattered by the red flickering glow. Every day the continued whirling and throbbing. There is no escape.
CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT IT IS LIKE TO LIVE IN COOLAH NOW?
A mother living near a wind farm writes: “I have pulled the beds into the lounge once again. The turbines have been noisy all day. My 13 year old was asleep before she hit the pillow thanks to a huge day out with school. But my 11 year old lasted in bed for less than a minute before yelling out and we moved the beds. Plus we are now fighting a wind farm to the South of us, which has turbines 271m high. As well a Solar farm and Battery Complex have been approved down the road.
This is happening all across Rural Australia
1. Unreliables are permanently removing, millions of hectares of agricultural land from production (with the resultant economic loss) and threatening to permanently contaminate offshore oceans
2. Hugely increasing the risk of uncontrollable wildfires, which will threaten the safety of Country living.
3. Slaughtering our unique wildlife in numbers leading to extinction.
4. Permanently polluting land, along with surface and underground water runoff.
5. Blighting the renowned scenic beauty and peacefulness of the landscape.
6. Despoiling tourism attractions.
7. Devaluing land values and country lifestyles.
8. REFs intermittent and unreliable renewable electricity production increases electricity prices for both country and city.
9. Australia’s national security is at risk, with a large part of our electricity production and distribution being controlled by foreign companies.
THE UNRESTRAINED RUSH TO UNRELIABLE RENEWABLES MUST BE STOPPED FROM TORTURING RURAL AUSTRALIANS AND POLLUTING THE COUNTRYSIDE.
AND OUR DEMAND THAT THE CLOSURE OF ALL COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS BE RECONSIDERED BECOMES EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
But if they are closed, then (beginning with Liddell which closed in April 2023, Eraring in 2025, Yallourn in (2032 now 2028), Bayswater in 2033, with Loyang A in 2045). AND THAT NONE OF THESE COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS BE DEMOLISHED AFTER IT IS CLOSED, BUT BE MOTHBALLED, SO IT CAN BE RESTARTED IN THE EVENT, THAT A SHORTAGE OF ELECTRICAL GENERATION REQUIRES IT TO BE RESTARTED. Even if this requires the coal fired generators be compulsory acquired by the relevant Government, in the National interest.
May I strongly urge all business owners, large and small. CEO’s Managers, those in charge of aged care homes, and other public institutions, everyone in a position of management. Homeowners, etc. Reliable, low cost power is essential. Blackouts are a diabolically, serious issue. Talk with your management, boards, staff about how it will affect your business.
Any business who believes that their business is totally renewable energy powered is deluding themselves and doesn’t realise how wrong they are. It is more likely to be anywhere between 60% to 80% fossil fuels and only 20% to 30% unreliables, with the damage unreliables are doing to Rural Australia can only be described as reprehensible.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: Eastern States 27th April 2024 5.55pm EST. Batteries 2%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 49% Brown Coal 15%, Gas 15%, Hydro 15% Diesel 1% Solar 0%, Wind 3%. A peak time and solar and wind only contributing 3%.
IF YOU WANTED TO SEE A COMPLETE FAILURE THIS IS IT. WITHOUT THE COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A COMPLETE BLACKOUT OF THE GRID!!!!
IF AND WHEN ALL THE COAL FIRED GENERATORS ARE CLOSED, WHERE IS THE 64% OF ELECTRICITY THEY NOW GENERATE GOING TO COME FROM?
