NSW residents enduring a blistering day have been asked to delay using non-essential appliances on Thursday night, and turn up the temperature of their air conditioning.
NSW residents have been asked to consider increasing air-conditioning thermostats, and delay using non-essential appliances on Thursday night, as a brutal heatwave strains the state’s energy supply. A heatwave warning from the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) is currently in place, with temperatures in western Sydney set to hit 40C, and the mercury rising to 37C in Sydney.
The high temperatures have caused the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to forecast a forecast Lack of Reserve 2 (LOR2) for NSW, which warns of a “significant reduction” in predetermined electricity reserve levels, with electricity usage expected to peak between 5pm to 9pm. NSW Energy Minister Penny Sharpe implored (shouldn’t that be begged?), households to help ease the strain on the energy network by limiting their non-essential energy usage during Thursday’s peak, however stressed it was a “precautionary measure”.

May I strongly urge all business owners, large and small. Ceo’s, managers,owners aged care homes, public buildings, everyone in a position of management. Homeowners, etc. Blackouts are a diabolically, critical issue. Talk with your management, boards, staff about how it will affect your business. Prepare plans to cope.
WE NEED TO KEEP WHAT BASE LOAD POWER WE HAVE, AND IT IS IRRESPONSIBLE TO CLOSE A COAL FIRED POWER STATION BEFORE RELIABLE POWER GENERATORS ARE IN PLACE.
In the meantime, Rural Australia is being decimated by the forced placement of Renewable Factories (Solar, Wind, Batteries and HV Transmission lines) across rural Australia. Resulting in;
1. Permanently removing, millions of hectares of agricultural land from production and permanently contaminating offshore oceans
2. Hugely increasing the risk of uncontrollable wildfires, which will threaten the safety of Country living.
3. Slaughtering our unique wildlife in numbers leading to extinction.
4. Permanently polluting land, along with surface and underground water runoff.
5. Blighting the renowned scenic beauty and peacefulness of the landscape.
6. Despoiling tourism attractions.
7. Devaluing land values and country lifestyles.
8. REFs intermittent and unreliable renewable electricity production increases electricity prices for both country and city.
9. Australia’s national security is at risk, with a large part of our electricity production and distribution being controlled by foreign companies.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example: 29th Dec 9.30 pm EDST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 50%, Brown Coal 15%, Gas 10%, Hydro 6% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 18% (The unreliables Batteries, Solar and Wind a total of 18%). Solar has gone for its daily 15 hour sleep. (Being paid for sleeping on the job, how’s that for a scam?). However, the stored heat in buildings, all concrete footpaths, roads, etc, will continue to drive air conditioners and the demand for electricity will be strong for many hours to come.
We are up to 2,658 signatures, let’s increase it by many more, everyone’s future depends on it. Continue to spread the word, to all family, friends, anyone you meet, particularly discuss it with shop and business owners. Ask the question, “How do you plan to cope when the blackouts come? Are you thinking of buying a generator? I’m having second thoughts about the portable generator, but I have gas for cooking and heating. WE MUST KEEP THOSE COAL FIRED GENERATORS GOING, TO KEEP THE REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS FROM THAWING OUT.
