In the previous Update, I omitted to explain why Australia’s Plan to reach Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 2038 is a futile exercise, causing great economic and societal harm to the business, employment and prosperity of every part of private and public life in Australia.
WITHOUT ANY BENEFIT TO AUSTRALIA OR AUSTRALIANS.
The first reason is that the World is encompassed by one atmosphere. Whatever is put into the atmosphere in one part of the World, is eventually moved by wind currents to affect the atmosphere in every other part of the World.
Therefor as the volume of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere is approximately 420 parts per million, 0.04 per cent. Of this the whole of mankind’s amount from fossil fuel burning is one hundredth of 1 per cent. Of this one hundredth Australia produces about 1.5 per cent. If Australia reaches Net Zero by 2038 it will have zero affect as to how much CO2 is in the atmosphere.
Now as part of reaching Net Zero, Australia will close the eighteen coal fired power stations currently in service by 2038. Meanwhile China operates 1,118, India 285, USA 225, Japan 92, Indonesia 87, Russia 71, Germany 63, Poland 44, Turkey 33, Vietnam 26, plus 152 in other parts of the World.
This means that there are 2,196 Coal fired power stations around the World all putting CO2 in the Global Atmosphere. This just reiterates how stupid it is for Australia to shut down its eighteen coal fired power stations and have businesses close or go offshore because of extremely high power prices, have families starve because they can’t afford to pay their power bills and buy food at the same time and in what is becoming very common, become homeless, because they can’t pay all the costs being imposed on them.
Secondly, as part of reducing CO2 emissions to meet Net Zero targets gas is being phased out particularly in the ACT, where new gas connections are being banned and in Victoria under the Andrews Government Gas Substitution Roadmap, it is planned to force two million homes to change from gas to electricity. As for Victorian Businesses it is just tough luck if they can’t survive without gas. This ridiculous idea is just compounding the hardship placed on business, employment and particularly the general population.
Thirdly, while Australia is shutting down our coal fired power stations and won’t allow any new High Efficiency Low Emissions (HELE) Coal Fired Power Stations to be built. Australia is the fifth largest producer, the second largest exporter and has the third largest reserves of coal in the world. Being the second largest coal exporter in the World, Australia is happy to export coal to other Countries to produce their electricity and prosper their Countries. At the same time banning our own citizens of using our own coal to provide the lifeblood of the economy which is reliable, low cost, base load electricity 24/7. Twisted logic if I ever saw it.
It is the same situation with Natural gas. Australia is now the largest exporter of Natural Gas happy to export it around the World to power other Countries, but is reducing its use as much as possible in Australia, to meet the Net Zero targets, in the process putting great hardship on businesses, families and individuals. Particularly on pensioners and low income families and individuals.
I REITERATE! NET ZERO BY 2038 IS THE MOST FUTILE AND DISASTROUS POLICY THAT ANY GOVERNMENT COULD EVER HAVE THOUGHT OF. SHAME ON THEM ALL.

IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT NO CLOSED COAL FIRED POWER STATION BE DEMOLISHED AS THEY CERTAINLY WILL BE NEEDED IN THE FUTURE.
