Today the 2nd June 2023 11.35am the AEMO Dashboard showed Victoria’s Fuel Mix as being 90% Brown Coal, 0% Gas, 6% Solar, 4% Wind. NOTE: 11.35am should be a prime time for Solar.
Relying so heavily on Brown Coal IT should be of great concern for every Victorian that its three Brown Coal generators are anticipated to be closed. As Victoria at present has wind generation capacity to generate 50% of its energy needs, today's reading of 4% shows just how dependent it is on the wind, actually blowing. The wind is an unreliable WEATHER FUEL. Ditto for Solar on 6%, another WEATHER FUEL which is at least reliable, in that it provides NO POWER AT NIGHT.
IF IN 2032 OR EVEN BEFORE AND THE COAL GENERATORS ARE CLOSED OR OFFLINE FOR MAINTENANCE. THEN ON A CALM NIGHT, VICTORIA MAY EXPERIENCE A 12 HOUR BLACKOUT CATASTROPHE!!

Particularly at 7pm and 6am continue to watch the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard. It is scary to read.
IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT NO CLOSED COAL FIRED POWER STATION BE DEMOLISHED AS THEY CERTAINLY WILL BE NEEDED IN THE FUTURE.
