With energy costs rising 20% to 30% from 1st July, many, many homes will be dark and businesses closed just because they cannot pay the electricity bill. 

RMIT reported on the 2nd May that 1 in 4 households are struggling to pay their power bills. It may be your household or your neighbour’s.

THIS IS THIRD WORLD STUFF IT IS DISGRACEFUL THAT OUR LEADERS ARE ALLOWING IT TO HAPPEN IN AUSTRALIA.

May 6, 2023 https://stopthesethings.com/ New South Wales has just shut Liddell – a perfectly operable coal-fired plant, that once delivered 2,000MW to the grid, around-the-clock, whatever the weather.

Wholesale power prices jumped from $96 to $228 – almost overnight; an 80% increase within a week of the plant’s closure. The loss of that volume of power to a grid already teetering on the brink of collapse, can only help ensure that result.

NSW is reported to no longer exporting electricity. Will SA be able to keep the lights on? Or at what cost.
