Hospital life at Lemuel Shattuck is hard but not nearly as terrifying as at Solomon Carter Fuller. I have a lot of trauma to unpack. Now I may actually have the opportunity to do so!

I'm pleased to announced I have not experienced a SINGLE episode of harassment from patients since arriving here aprox 4 weeks ago. From the deepest part of my heart THANK YOU!!

I have nothing significant to report in terms of movement on the #justiceforjean petition.

Gov Healey hasn't contacted me nor AG Campbell. However the signatures are steadily accruing because Massachusetts voters and the wider queer community do want to see Jean's death properly investigated as well as allegations of systemic abuse against queer patients.

As you likely know I requested gender-affirming care (GAC) from DMH 2 years before I actually received it. After much digging around I was able to confirm that DMH in fact does not have  policies in place to ensure gender-diverse clients have access to GAC! NONE! ZERO!!

Even Massachusetts Dept of Corrections has established policies and procedures to ensure inmates receive GAC. Why not DMH??

Already some law and policy makers, as well as some legal advocacy groups have expressed dismay upon learning about this and are indicating they are ready to support legislation to ensure DMH does write these life-saving policies.

I started another petition to help garner public support to ensure this legislation does get written.
