Jerry Bell, Chief Information Security Officer at IBM, just petitioned Gov Healey and AG Campbell to investigate Jean's death and take the goals outlined in this petition seriously!

Jerry has been incredibly supportive of the queer community and is, as usual, backing up that support with real action.

Dear Gov Healey and Attorney General Campbell,

My name is Jerry Bell. I am the Chief Information Security Officer at a large US corporation with substantial experience in behavioral and cognitive psychology, which are critical to my job. 

I met And Steiner (it/its) over a year ago. We have been engaging regularly and I have been following the developments of And’s atrocious mistreatment in Massachusetts DMH hospitals as well as the developments in the #justiceforjean petition.

My interactions with And and my witnessing interactions with And and others in our community have left me with a sense that it is an intelligent and compassionate human rights advocate. There is little doubt in my mind that there is significant relevance to And’s concerns about it’s treatment and that the goals in the petition concerning Jean Busch’s treatment and death need serious investigation. 

Massachusetts has, literally, advertised itself as a safe haven for gender-diverse people and I’m asking you to ensure that is indeed true. Please investigate Jean’s death and ensure that And Steiner has to endure no more abuse.
