This new policy directly impacts July and August birthdays in terms of grade level participation.

It also causes these players to be trapped without a team prior to their freshman year in high school due to older players participating in high school athletics. Over the past 7-8 years, clubs could remedy the problem by gathering other trapped players to form an interim team. This will be much more difficult with only 2 months of trapped players vs 6 months of trapped players. The numbers do not work in the affected players favor.  They will very likely not have a team for half the season.

In their senior year, they might not have a place to play period because they have aged out of youth soccer. 

What the teammates/friends may not realize is that it indirectly affects them as well.  They will unnecessarily lose the ability to play with friends and classroom peers.
