Please note that as a community we are NOT interested in shutting down the Friends of Upland animal shelter. Nor are we interested in cutting their funding. We simply want the shelter to issue an apology to the owner and admit their faults. The owner deserves an explanation. We love animals and think that this facility can still fulfill the purpose of finding loving homes for our furry friends. We simply believe amendments need to be made to the adoption process so that this situation does not occur again. Shelters should strive to reunite pets with their original families if they come forward within a reasonable timeframe and demonstrate that they have made efforts to find their pet. This situation could have happened to any one of us. Humans are not perfect. With that said please microchip and register your dogs if you have not already. Thank you,
