When Lisa and her husband, Bob, turned 50, they set a "50 for 50" challenge for themselves. It was a year of 50 firsts and the adventures included everything from sky gliding, to hatchet throwing to a helicopter ride over NYC.

Lisa turns 52 today. Now that ALS has stripped away many of her physical abilities, the fun challenges of two summers ago have been replaced with breathing, communication, and mobility struggles.
