Many sunscreens contain a chemical called Oxybenzone. Oxybenzone is dangerous and contributing to coral reef bleaching. When you wear sunscreen that contains this chemical in the ocean it can wash off into the water making it a threat to coral reefs. Start using oxybenzone-free sunscreens to make an impact and help save the coral reefs!

Other dangerous chemicals to coral reefs that are found in sunscreens include:

Octinoxate

4-methylbenzylidene camphor

Octocrylene

Para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA)

Methylparaben

Ethylparaben

Propylparaben

Butylparaben

Benzylparaben

Triclosan
