Call an emergency meeting of the Tennessee Historical Commission

Call an emergency meeting of the Tennessee Historical Commission
The Issue
On July 9, 2020 the TN State Capitol Commission was called into an emergency meeting to vote on removing the Nathan Bedford Forrest statue from the State Capitol and move it to the Tennessee State Museum. The vote to remove passed on a vote of 9-2. The next step would be to receive a waiver for removing the statue from the Tennessee Historical Commission. The Nathan Bedford Forrest statue is a symbol of hate, racism, slavery, and systemic oppression, it has been voted on to be removed and the Historical Commision needs to hold a meeting and approve a waiver to remove it.
Since the meeting of the Tennessee State Capitol Commission was called by the Governor outside of normal meeting procedure the Tennessee Historical Commission needs to waive the normal notice and meet as soon as possible to vote on approving this waiver.
