Day 3

Hello again everyone, I know that today seemed a little lackluster in terms of public information related to this movement. However a lot has been happening behind the scenes that I think you guys should know. I have posted all the info from today on both Instagram (@w_bernier) and Snapchat (@wjh_bernier), however I know that not everyone is on one of those platforms. So, today I had a run-in with Mr. Hagen again and he gave me some quite good news. The school board is considering cameras (even though they have been opposed to them in the past) and there will be a board meeting on December 11th at 7pm! It will take place at the SAU25 building and is open to the public. I encourage everyone to come. Also, I have been conducting personal interviews with people around the school. Today, I talked with the students who run The Dog Pound (our school store) as well as the students who hang out there as customers. Both had some very valuable input that I will be sharing soon once I can organize all of my notes. I also talked to a couple officers from the Bedford Police Department and got their opinions. I am glad that they took the time to talk to me and they definitely had some great perspectives on terrorism and public safety. Lastly, I talked with teachers and lunch staff. The teachers were certainly hesitant to talk. However, I ensured them that everything that everyone tells me is kept anonymous unless said person specifically gives me permission to use their name. They talked openly with me after that. And I have still been in contact with parents, as well. I talked to a few new people today and continue to receive great ideas and support.
