Yvonne has been a preK/K teacher at Central Park East 1 for decades and many have asked her to write, document and film her practices, which she has. This will be the first documentary specifically on the practices in HER classroom at CPE1. Footage was collected this last school year. It will be screened and a discussion will be lead by Dr. Beverly Falk, a prominent professor with a many publications on progressive education practices, from the College of Education at The City College of New York. CCNY and CPE1 have had longstanding collaborations exchanging student teachers and supporting future educators in NYC. We would love for all to attend. The location will be at The City College of New York (160 Convent Ave; 138th St. bet Amsterdam and Convent Ave). Enter the North Academic Center (NAC) building either through the Amsterdam level (3rd floor) and go down to the first floor or on the first floor directly (access through Convent Ave entrance). There is plenty of room in the ballroom for all interested to attend (please ask the security guards to direct you or follow signs).
