FIRE NYPD COP DANIEL PANTALEO, KILLER OF ERIC GARNER

FIRE NYPD COP DANIEL PANTALEO, KILLER OF ERIC GARNER

The Issue

In Charleston, S. Carolina, Michael Slager was fired and arrested and charged with murder within days of a video emerging that showed him shooting Walter Scott, an unarmed Black man who was fleeing and posed no danger, from behind.

It's been nine months since the video showed how the NYPD's Daniel Pantaleo snuck up from behind Eric Garner, an unarmed Black man, who also posed no danger, and kill him with a lynch-hold.

Yet Pantaleo, who should not have been on the police force on that date, July 17, 2014 because there were already three lawsuits against him --alleging violations of the constitutional rights of several African American males, including searches on their genitals-- is still on the NYPD.

Mayor De Blasio must do the right thing and fire Pantaleo.
