Up until pretty recently, east drive in prospect park was open to commuters between 7-9 a.m. in order to decrease rush hour traffic in the neighborhoods surrounding the park. After a trial run this summer as to the effects of closing the park on traffic patterns, city officials closed east drive, though they declined to release data showing the effects on traffic patterns inn neighborhoods nearby. A commute of 20 minutes or so easily stretches into an hour as it is. The closure of east drive has further increased commute time (most of which is spent in bumper to bumper traffic). Please join me in petitioning city officials to reopen this lane
