An update from my meeting with Larry Brock 

Because BILL-C332 is considered historic - we are currently in the process of making it as ‘Madisson’s Law’ - I cried so hard on call today, happy tears of course.

Madisson’s Law is a proposed reform that will strengthen protections for victims of intimate partner violence by ensuring earlier intervention when coercive control or patterns of escalating behaviour are present. It calls for the use of risk-based monitoring tools, including judicially ordered ankle monitors, to keep high-risk offenders accountable and victims informed. Madisson’s Law will also push for stricter release conditions and improved information-sharing between police, courts, and victims. Closing the dangerous gaps that allow violence to escalate.

Our petition urges our government to adopt these measures and ensure no other family endures what my family has faced.

Madisson’s Law is about prevention, safety, and giving victims the protection they deserve before it is too late.

Madisson’s Law will emphasize stopping violence before it escalates, rather than only responding after harm is done. This is the heart of the bill - the part that honours Madisson.
