Petition updateThyroid Patients Need Better Treatment NOWThyroid Petition--Over 5,000 Signatures!! An Update

I'm happy to report that we've reached a bit over 5,000
signatures on the petition I started in memory of my brother
Jordan, "Thyroid Patients Need Better Treatment NOW."
Thank you all so much for your support. It means a lot!!

I'll start working on a good cover letter now, to send along
with the petition to the White House. But I'm going to keep
gathering as many signatures as I can while I wait to hear
back from the White House--because they may not think
5,000-plus signatures is good enough to help us with thyroid
reforms, even though we may think it's pretty impressive!

Here's the petition's link: if you can think of anyone to share
it with who might sign, please do. This fight isn't over, yet!

I hope to send off the cover letter & petition by early June.
It'll take me a little time for two reasons: One, my own
thyroid treatment isn't good enough, so it affects my energy
& brain power--and it'll take me longer than it should to do
this well. Also, money's been extra-tight since my brother
passed away, so I may need to wait until the beginning
of June to print & mail everything off, as I'll have access
to a bit more cash, then. But I will get it done!!!!

To learn more about thyroid, I recommend this Twitter
account to follow. It's done by Dr. Antonio Bianco,
former head of the American Thyroid Association, who's
really trying to make progress for thyroid patients. Link:
@Bianco_Lab
Dr. Bianco is working on a time-released, T-3 hormone
prescription drug which could be a real breakthrough
for many thyroid patients like me, as it should make it
easier to tolerate the medication & give less side-effects.

I'm proud to say that Dr. Bianco is a supporter of this
petition!  And on his Twitter account, he writes about
thyroid & hypothyroidism--and I'll imagine he'll have
updates on the new drug as things progress.  He really
understands that some of us need better help. I follow
him on Twitter, and I hope you will, too.

Once again, I'll post my favorite picture of my brother
and me, because I like it--and I just wish I'd known
enough to do more for Jordan regarding his thyroid.
But it shouldn't be so hard to get diagnosed & treated
well. And that's what this petition is all about. Trying to
make it easier for us patients. Thanks again for all
your support--my best to everyone.  From Jordan's
sister, Starr D.
