Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Brownsburg High School prom scheduled May 2, 2020 has been cancelled. Though it is a smart thing to do considering the health risks that come along with being in large crowds, the Brownsburg senior class is obviously greatly effected by this cancellation. Senior prom is one of those memories that you simply cannot just replace. The BHS senior class has been through divided classes freshman year, four years of construction and now many cancellations to almost all of our final high school memories. By signing this petition, we plan to demonstrate to our administration how important it is to us to still hold a prom organized by the school. Many female students have already purchased their dresses in advance and the deposits are non-refundable as well. We hope that prom could simply be scheduled at a later date, perhaps even the summer, to give the BHS class of 2020 the prom that they not only earned, but deserve.
