On 14th June 2017 I started a Change.org petition to upgrade the broadband in our area. In just a few days we had 25% of the leafleted houses sign the petition. I got in touch with BT Community Fibre Partnership and they have helped us with grants and support to get the upgrade completed. I launched the Crowdfunder and in less than a month we'd raised all of the money we needed with the help of 47 supporters. 

The contract was signed with Openreach in November 2017 and the long wait began. It has not been a trouble free install and Openreach engineers had numerous issues to resolve - even being hampered by flooded cables! 

However with the help of our Openreach contact, who has gone above and beyond to push and escalate this through, on 19th December 2018 the first Fibre Broadband orders were placed. Around 250 homes will see their speeds go from 1-6 Mbps to 40-70 Mbps which will make a huge difference for homes, families and businesses in the area.
