BT Community Fibre Partnerships have now progressed our request on to BT Openreach to fully survey, plan and quote the cost to upgrade our area to fibre speeds. This should involve upgrading a cabinet rather than installing a new one which is good news for our budget. Generally there is around an 8 week lead time for getting the quote together so my next big update is likely to be in September. In the meantime if there are any small updates then I will be adding them on here https://sites.google.com/site/barkleysbroadband/updates Once we start getting some numbers back I'm planning to arrange a meeting for everyone and we can work with BT to get the fundraising started. Also start saving up some pennies (and pounds) towards the fundraising - while we will try to get any grants possible it is likely that we will need to put in some money ourselves to invest in getting the superfast broadband as soon as possible.
