I fostered a dog on January 18th, 2019 for the slumber party held by the City of Fort Worth Animal Care & Control shelter. This is our city's dog pound and kill shelter that has hundreds of dogs brought in and temporarily housed on any given day. When I got my foster dog home and bathed her, I realized she was infested with ticks! So many other fosters posted on Facebook how their fosters were also tick infested. The shelter, animals and grounds are infested with this unsanitary and potentially dangerous parasite. The shelter staff are doing the best they can to service the welfare and health of the animals in their care but they lack enough city funding to eradicate this serious issue. Every animal coming into that shelter has the right to basic medical care including parasite treatment with effective medication and being quarantined from general population until the pests are completely dead. This petition is for the citizens of Fort Worth TX to sign demanding more and continuous funding to the city shelter to 100% eradicate the parasite problem now and in the future by providing the most effective tools,  medicine and chemicals necessary.
