Gun violence in Wilmington has affected many people. It especially impacts the citizens that live in Wilmington. It can endanger anyone that lives in Wilmington and their safety. According to U.S.A Today and AP analysis of Gun Violence Archive, there are 3.4 12-17 year olds that get injured/killed from guns for every thousand citizens. Of course, the citizens are not the only ones to be affected by the gun violence. Wilmington itself is affecting Wilmington’s economy. This is because all of the gun violence is causing people from out of town to shop and stop by Wilmington. Most people do not want to visit a town once named as “Murder Town”. This is limiting local businesses to rely on local customers, as those will be the only ones shopping. Without a safer city, then no one from the outside will want to shop or move to Wilmington.
