Honorable Minister Sylvan Richards Jr, JP MP is the new Environment & Planning Minister. Minister Richards was formerly the Minister for Social Development and Sports. We hope to communicate with Minister Sylvan Richards soon regarding the importance of preserving Riddell's Bay Golf and Country Club as a recreational facility and to prevent the new owners from their current plan of applying to rezone for residential building of large estate houses, which would forever destroy 90 acres of vital green, recreational space in Bermuda. The large group of Petitioners believe a potential zoning change would violate the Development and Planning Act 1974 (“the Act”) and set a precedent that would jeopardize all golf courses and other areas that are currently protected under the Bermuda Plan (2008). We welcome feedback from Minister Richards.
