Riddell's Bay Members Committee

Jan 5, 2017
For over forty years, visiting international Rugby players have played Riddells Bay, initially for the Easter Rugby Classic, and now the World Rugby Classic. For 28 years, the Kevany Cup, competed for by the teams here for the World Rugby Classic and a major event of Classic Week, has been played at Riddells Bay. Many of those players, on learning of the closure of Riddells Bay, have signed or supported the Petition seeking its retention as a golf course and such support from overseas is welcome.
We need to remind the new owners of Riddell’s Bay that they have bought the oldest golf club on the island with a long history of providing a unique golfing experience for both visitors and Bermudians. Bermuda planning restrictions are in place to preserve recreational land and prohibit the changing of zoning from recreation to residential.
We encourage the Bermuda Planning Department to maintain their commitment to preserving Bermuda’s limited recreational property.
Please see the many recent, supportive COMMENTS on the Change.org website under "Preserve Bermuda Recreational Land Petition" that are all asking our Government officials and Planning Department to preserve Riddells Bay as a golf course:
