Thanks for signing this petition. This is my first time taking the reigns on such an initiative; once I began reading about Ben & Jerry's contract with an ice cream manufacturer doing business in illegal Israeli settlements, I felt compelled to help draw attention to the issue. In my haste, I misstated some of the facts about this conflict of interest.

A member of Vermonters for Justice in Palestine clarified that Ben & Jerry's and their parent company Unilever don't actually profit from the Israeli Company's production. I learned a lot about this issue from their website: https://vtjp.org/icecream

However, this doesn't detract from the reasons I started the petition. Moving forward, the primary goals are:

• demand a public statement from Ben & Jerry's condemning the Israeli franchise's partnership with Shufersal
• Urge Ben & Jerry's to utilize their power as licensors to cut ties with Shufersal

A quote on the website of the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) sums it up: "A company can’t call itself progressive and remain silent on Palestine."
