The public hearing will continue on Tuesday, August 25. Please come out to support neighbors who would be severely impacted by this proposed Verizon project. We've learned that Verizon's proposed tower would not have one level of antennas as the drawing and simulations indicate, but four levels of antennas that would include Verizon leasing to other carriers. This would not only mean a tower and compound in the neighborhood, but potentially a communications hub with four different cell carriers, multiple buildings with the sound of multiple HVAC units and generators and no regulatory agency keeping track of the combined radiation from all of these carriers. A neighborhood is no place for a wireless communications facility. This tower would be a highly visible eyesore and negatively impact the property values of houses in the neighborhood, the quality of life of residents, and potentially the health and safety of residents. Please urge the Belchertown Planning Board to deny this special permit by calling the Planning Office and writing the Planning Board a letter via Douglas Albertson, Town Planner, 2 Jabish Street, PO Box 964, Belchertown, MA 01007. email: planning@Belchertown.org
