Although vaccinations prevent serious illness from COVID-19, DC hospitals are strained under the record-number of COVID cases in the area. In response, DC hospitals have reached a point where they are asking residents to avoid hospitals for COVID-19 testing. Additionally, the DC Hospital Association has urged Mayor Muriel Bowser to declare a Public Health Emergency in the District. 

In Virginia, COVID cases continue to climb to an all time high. This petition is now one of hundreds across the country, urging university administrations and public school systems alike to shift to virtual learning until case numbers and hospitalizations improve.

It's important that we continue to push the Mason administration to make decisive action now. Our community is at a great risk. We should demand more from our administration.
