Major news

This update was started before this:
NEWS! In light of the “poor to very poor” condition report, the State Government is going to offer BVSC a new agreement which will revisit the design, change funding and possibly embed a Project Manager in Council.
This makes attendance at the meeting all the more important.
Hello Everyone,
This is a reminder about the Community Connect meeting with Council at:
Murrah Hall on Tuesday, 05 May 2026, 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
https://www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au/About-Council/Council-Projects/Town-Hall-Community-Connect-Series
Council says its important that they listen to people living in the Shire and what’s important to them.
The problem is that they are not responding to many Community concerns on a number of fronts.
Your attendance at the meeting is an opportunity to let Council know:
1. They have neglected the historic Cuttagee Bridge for too long.
2. We have been waiting for more than 5 years for the repair/restoration of the Bridge.
3. We do not need an over-engineered two-lane plus pathway, concrete highway bridge
that is bigger than the main road Bermagui River Bridge.
4. That the passion for “our” Bridge as single-lane (traffic calming device), composite working structure is undiminished.
Please make the effort and encourage all friends and family in the area to attend this meeting.
Emails can also be sent to Minister Aitchison: office@aitchison.minister.nsw.gov.au and Dr Holland: bega@parliament.nsw.gov.au
Thank you.
