From Save Cuttagee Bridge Team

Sorry for the third email in three days, but this is the one chance we have to ensure Cuttagee has a one lane timber bridge.

If you have already filled out the survey but would like to say more, an email can be sent to council@begavalley.nsw.gov.au with the subject as Cuttagee Bridge Survey.

Greetings from your Save Cuttagee Bridge team. 
 
Please pass this on as far and wide as you can. 
We encourage you to fill out the Bega Council Bridge survey via the link below,  and get as many as possible to do so  to keep the focus to restore Cuttagee Bridge as  a one lane timber bridge. 
 
You may be interested to note that we still have never seen a report that says the bridge is beyond repair. And we have searched far and wide! 
 
The purpose of the $15M  from Transport NSW is for 
restoration of Cuttagee Bridge with heritage principles. 
Just like they have done for Wallaga Bridge. One lane and restored.

Bridge experts tell us timber is safe, affordable, beautiful - and gives us heritage values.
Timber bridges enhance tourism and support community needs. 
 
Please note in filling out the survey some key aspects and biases: 
 
+ Safety is inherent in a restored heritage bridge. 
Council have to meet certain standards so that’s not an issue. 
A heritage based bridge will be a safe bridge.  
 
+ The survey asks you about making the Cuttagee bridge and road an alternative to the Highway. 
That means Double B trucks could roar down that road! 
Please consider that in your responses. 
 
+ We are still committed to a one lane timber bridge with heritage values. 
We need to make sure that the cultural and economic tourism angle is noted. 
 
+ We also request that it’s most important to have a face to face public consultation process that brings together world leaders on timber bridge restoration.
