The Eden Memorial Swimming Pool opened in the late 1970's when the number of parents looking to have their children learn to swim was rapidly growing. The rockpool at the Southern end of Aslings Beach was in need of continual maintenance emptying it of sand. This was costly and the fix was short-lived with the sand quickly refilling the pool. However, this was where Eden's kids learnt to swim - not ideal - and so the Memorial Pool was built.
NOW a Bega Valley Shire Council report is spelling the end to Eden's Memorial Pool. The report can be found at the following web address;
