As you may have seen in-person, Asda/Chew Valley Construction have fixed the dangerous gaps in-between the tiles. The fountains themselves have not been repaired.

With anything like this, constant maintenance is required, it might be okay now, but the tiles will become loose again in a few years.

We were really hoping the area would either be fully restored to its former glory, or repurposed for something else (outdoor seating for the café, or another children's playpark).

We have made the decision to close the petition, but will keep our eye on the site. In good news, the Coate Water splash park (as pictured) is expected to be revamped as part of a £475,000 project, so seemed like a good opportunity to promote an alternative to take your children to this summer.
