I had my meeting with Mr. Martinak this morning. Here are the results of that meeting:

1. The word distraction will no longer be used at all in regards to dress code. The reason for the dress code was never to prevent distraction, and yet many young women feel this way. It will be clarified that the dress code is to promote a professional learning environment, not to prevent young men from being distracted.

2. There will be a proactive statement added to the discipline talk specifically addressing inappropriate comments made about the other sex. This is to help prevent catcalling in the hallways and help educate men that catcalling is in fact a form of harassment.

3. The sleeves rule was never 4 fingers, or even 3. The rule is that your bra strap must not be showing, or 2 fingers.

If you have any questions, please let me know by commenting on this update. With that, I am declaring this petition a Victory. I know that some of you may not be satisfied with these changes, but if you choose to do more I implore you to proceed civilly and respectfully. This process has stayed diplomatic so far, and it will not help anyone's cause if one person blows up in the face of the administration. Again, if you have any questions please comment on this article or use my school email. My name is Ryan Ingram, and I thank you all again for your support.
