Hello,
It has been six months since the start of our campaign to make London the world's first National Park City. In this update I would like to share are few successes and something you can do to help move things forward.
A couple of weeks ago I met with National Parks England and several chiefs of the official English national parks where the idea was warmly welcomed. Formally a spokesperson is quoted in the Independent saying that National Parks England is “supportive of the principle” of a London park, adding in a statement: “We note that the proposition would have the ethos, but not the traditional legal designation, of existing national parks.”
This is an exciting base to build from and demonstrates that while the idea of a Greater London National Park may be radical, it is also possible and valuable.
The Greater London National Park has also been in the news. On Friday the Park featured in the Independent, i, BBC London Radio, BBC London TV and London Live. Since then the message has spread further and the campaign is on Buzzfeed too.

We now need to build on this energy.
Thank you all for signing this petition. There are now 1,208 of us who have called on the Mayor of London to become a National Park. The title of the petition has changed to Become a Founder of the Greater London National Park to reflect our positive energy.
In addition to individuals, 70 organisations have share their logos with us and become Friends of the Park. The Camden Butterfly Trust, Farrells, Scouts (London Region) and Warblr are just a few of our most recent Friends.
All going well I will be pitching the idea of Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, next week. Before then it would be wonderful if we could build on these numbers to show even more support for the Park.
Please help the campaign by doing one or more of these things:
1. Invite people to become a Founder of the Greater London National Park. Every person counts.
