I work within the beauty industry & I and everyone else within this industry have spent 3 months out of work spending my time figuring out the best way to make my room even safer than before ( it was hard) because we in the beauty industry have practiced extreme hygiene and sanitation rules throughout our time. 

I understand the massive impact this virus has had on the world and how many lives it has sadly taken, but if public houses, restaurants and hairdressers are able to reopen why are the small beauty business’ left last.

We have correct PPE, adequate equipment and precautions in place, I genuinely feel the safety of clients and staff members will be the top priority in a beauty salon environment we have a reputation to adhere to and the cleanliness of beauty salons is what gains us our clients, how can someone under the influence of alcohol adhere to a 2m rule. On opening of pubs customers will flood to their locals and be extremely busy meaning a much higher risk of the spread of this virus compared to in a beauty salon with visors, masks and more appropriate wear. Girls that work from home like me at most yourself and 1 client in a room, and even beauty salons work 1-1 At most there is 5 much less than what will be in a pub, will the workers in these pub sanitise each seat after each customer, each toilet cubicle? The way salon workers will?

If We can go to shops with numerous people and pubs which will be filled with hundreds why can’t we work in our salons with minimal people? Can you please consider our petition. We will wear PPE, we will sanitise. We will limit appointments. Please don’t let our small business’ that we have worked so hard for suffer in this way.
