Tenki Tenki fa standin wid we @GullahGeechee!

Numerous people proudly took the podium last night to oppose the destructionment at Bay Point.  Not only did they address numerous reasons why this was not environmentally or logically sound, they made sure to say that they stand with or support the Gullah/Geechee Nation.  I thank ALL of you that did that!  It was wonderful to hear you state your support out loud and on the record.

We greatly appreciate all of you that signed our petition and made it not just the talk of the town, but the talk of the state!  Your comments were all entered into the record of the opposition as well.

We will be working to see what will now happen to actually protect Bay Point.  So, we will keep you all posted via updates.  We encourage you to also follow www.GullahGeecheeNation.com to make sure that you do not miss things in the future and follow @GullahGeechee on Twitter and Instagram as well.  We will need your continued support.

We truly would have had a fish fry by the water to celebrate this during previous times.  We pray that you enjoy some seafood this weekend right where you are to celebrate with us.  

De Gullah/Geechee Nation greatly appreciates all of you and we thank you for standing with us.  We not only won this battle because you joined in the fight, we also protected Daufuskie from a sand mine.  We had over 3000 signatures in opposition to that in just 1 week.  So, last night was truly a blessing for the Gullah/Geechee Nation.
