Beaches East York Riding - Climate Action Meeting

This is an update on the petition asking our Liberal MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith to push the government to: a) adopt aggressive greenhouse gas emission reduction targets and milestones, b) support the call for a Green New Deal, and c) hold regular meetings with his constituents dedicated to planning and monitoring action towards these goals.  

Our petition has gathered nearly 100 signatures, so it is time for the next steps: gather more people, affirm our demands, plan petition delivery. You are invited to a non-partisan meeting for the students and adults of Beaches East-York Riding. We will meet to validate the asks of this petition, and to brainstorm local priorities and solutions, to suggest constructive and achievable milestones, to explore strategies for growing and diversifying our "base", and to decide how to deliver the petition and initiate regular community dialogue with our MP.

Our power is in our ability to build strong and supportive local community. So please come, reach out to a neighbour, bring a young student with you who wants to learn or take leadership, and let's build a community around climate action and environmental justice in Beaches East York.

'Tis the season: We will be accepting donations of women and children's winter coats for the Native Women's Resource Centre of Toronto, as well as non-perishable food and donations for the Community Centre 55 "Share a Christmas" program.
