Laila Morse has portrayed Big Mo Harris in EastEnders since 2000. In 2012, Laila’s contract was not renewed and she reduced to guest appearances with no proper leaving party, after 12 years of service. 6 years late John Yorke finally reversed this decision and brought back Laila on a permanent contract in 2018. Big Mo is one of the most recognisable and popular faces with the general public, and there is outrage on social media following the decision to axe her. Laila has been treated by this show appallingly once in 2012 and now again 9 years later! Axing a 75 year old woman, clearly very popular with the cast and crew, during a pandemic after 21 years of service is disgusting! BBC reverse this terrible decision to axe Laila Morse!
