I am writing this petition because it is time that Postman Pat became compatible with the values of modern Britain. 

I don’t want my children to grow up in a country where only men can deliver mail - it’s bad enough that Fireman Sam has convinced him that only men can fight fires. 

My son looked at me while watching an episode on CBeebies last week and said: ‘They can’t let a woman drive the post van as the mail would never get there on time. They can’t let a man have Mrs Goggins’ job because the shop would be messy.’

The BBC should be ashamed of themselves. It’s time that they stopped reinforcing gender stereotypes in this manner. 

It’s too late for Bananaman, but this show can be saved before future generations are damaged forever.
