Email Lewis Carnie to Resign

Please email lewis.carnie@bbc.co.uk Cc to his manager, who is bob.shennan@bbc.co.uk and cc to feedback@bbc.co.uk You can write your own, or you can copy the text below: Dear Lewis Carnie I am writing to ask that you take full responsibility for the recent despicable behaviour of managers at Unique Production and BBC Radio 2, and for your own dishonourable and dishonest actions as Head of Radio 2, and resign your position. It is abundantly evident that Brian Matthew was dismissed from his job as presenter of Sounds Of The Sixties (SOTS), when he was ready and willing to return to the show after a short absence due to a fall at home, from which he had fully recovered. You took advantage of this to implement your planned schedule change, rather than doing the decent thing. You should have investigated the matter, which would have shown you, if you were not already aware of it, the lack of respect and bullying being meted out to this wonderful veteran broadcaster. You claimed on R4 Feedback that family concerns had been raised regarding Brian’s workload, but you should have ascertained the real situation, which was that Brian and his wife, Pamela, were both personally outraged at his dismissal, for which they were given no notice whatsoever. You should have demanded that the dismissal be rescinded, and that Brian be reinstated as presenter until he was ready to retire. Instead, you allowed the untrue story that Brian had "stepped down due to ill health" to be persistently repeated in BBC press releases and countless individual BBC communications, and you took advantage of the situation to institute the schedule change that has moved SOTS from 8am to 6am. Instead of doing the decent thing, you acted with callous disrespect and impatience. You proved yourself unworthy of your position in the BBC. You should admit this and resign.
