Dear Change.org supporters,
Thank you for all your continued support and loyalty towards my campaign to get Nigel Farage / UKIP onto the BBC special Question Time episode. Iv'e been off of social media for a couple of days composing my letter of complaint to the BBC, which has now been sent off - I will paste this below if you wish to read it
Before that I have some exciting news regarding our petition - UKIP and Nigel Farage have supported THIS petition, Today at 6:24 UKIP emailed all of their supporters, in that email UKIP included a segment with a direct link to this petition, it reads, - Next week, we have the infamous "seven way" debate - and further down the line, a Question Time style head to head, which there's (Link insert) even a grassroots petition calling for me to be included"
Here is the letter of complaint which I have now sent to the BBC:
YOUR COMPLAINT:
Complaint Summary: Not inviting UKIP to Question Time special unfair
Full Complaint:
Dear sir/madam,
I understand that UKIP have possibly been invited to other programs by the BBC in the run up to the General election. However I feel it is wholly unacceptable and unfair that the BBC have chosen not to include UKIP as part of a "special" question time episode airing on 30th April - a week before the general election, and find this decision to be extremely unfair and bias. I feel this way because UKIP have been confirmed by Ofcom as a major political party, and they also have plenty of support behind them that make them a clear contender in the general elections, such as winning the 2014 European elections. I therefore feel that the the BBC's decisions are extremely bias and unfair especially considering that this "special" question time episode is a week before the general election, meaning that the other political parties who will feature on the program (Conservatives, liberal democrats and labour) will be in a more advantaged position, this is unfair for UKIP whom are also a major political party. It may be helpful to add that I have started an online petition with regards to my dissatisfaction about the BBC's decision not to include UKIP in the "special" Question Time episode. The link to my petition can be found here: https://www.change.org/p/bbc-involve-ukip-in-the-special-question-time-episode-on-30th-april The outcome I would expect from this complaint is for UKIP to be included in this "special" question time episode on 30th April 2015.
Regards.
This petition is continuing to build momentum and I hope you can join me in encouraging more people to support this petition be that word of mouth, social media or email.
I look forward to updating you soon,
Regards,
Bill
