Last year, you took a crucial step in voicing your concern about the climate crisis by signing my petition, urging the BBC to host a climate leadership debate during the Conservative leadership race. In hindsight, there was not enough time to influence the BBC's broadcasting schedule at that moment. Since then, the urgency of the climate emergency has only intensified, and the challenges we face—such as leaky homes, polluted water and air, and energy insecurity—persist without significant progress.

We now have, at most, just 18 months until the next General Elections, and there are even talks of it taking place this winter. In light of this impending opportunity for change, I have started a new campaign, calling on the BBC to host a climate leadership debate in the lead-up to the next General Elections.
