WJHG reported about this petition!! With that being said however,they also gave us the answer to our petitions purpose. Here is a quote from the news article "...because both candidates were republican and there was no opposing political party, a run-off election cannot be pushed back to the general election in November."

While I am greatly appreciative of those who have signed, I will be closing this petition off in exactly a week. I am doing this because the reason this petition was created was to call for a run-off election and now since that call has been definitively answered this petition no longer serves a purpose. 

While I am unsure of what we could do now in regards to this current election I do believe that it is important that we keep the fight up to make it where Superintendent elections are able to be held during the general election. As members of this community and this nation many of us may  forget how powerful we can be when we speak up, and with that power how we can change the way the water flows. 

My final message to everyone as a student of this district and as a member of this community is; Remember the power of your voice. I never expected this petition to even get near 100 signatures and it surpassed my expectations. When you have a concern please speak up because trust me many students of this community pay attention to the actions of its members and I think its important to prove to us students that you can work to make a change at any time of your life, whether that be young or old.
