Domestic cats being about to roam free is seriously impacting the Ecosystem. Domestic cats are not native to North America, Hawks, foxes, coyotes and other wild carnivores are natural predators of small animals. Domestic cats simply waste wild carnivores food supply leaving little food for them to eat. In residential areas where domestic cats roam free feces is found in flowerbeds and yards. Cat feces spreads diseases to humans animals. Toxoplasma Gondii is one of them and is linked to Schizophrenia. Being pregnant and working in your flowerbeds with cat feces can cause serious damage to the fetus.
